HML Hydraulic Test Equipment Serves All Types Of Aircraft

24 G.P.M. COMPONENT TEST BENCH
This large electrically powered hydraulic component test bench provides a wide range of facilities for testing hydraulic components. The main circuit operates at 5000 Ib/in" (352 kg:cm2) ; and the inclusion of twin manifolds enables two components to be tested at the same time. A hand pump and an air hydropump provide static pressures of up to 6000 and 10 000 Ib in 2 (422 and 703 kg 'ern") respectively. Solenoid operated and double acting components can be tested, and two pump test heads are also fitted.

HELICOPTER TEST TROLLEY
Th is unit comprises a small hand trolley, on which is mounted a hydraulic convertor. Essentially, a convertor consistsof a hydraulic motor which mechanically drives a pump As the motor and pumping circuits are separate the pump can provide a hydraulic output which has charecteristlcs different from those of the motor supply. This equipment was developed to enable helicopters to be tested from a ship's hydraulic ring main.

8 G.P.M. COMPONENT TEST BENCH
he eight gallon (36.4 I/min) bench is widely used by theBritish Armed Services lor the general testing of aircraft hyd·raulic components. In addition to providing a 5000 Ib In2 (352kg cm2) supply for operating single and double acting components, a 50001b in' hand pump and l0 000 lb in 'air hydro-pump are fitted for carrying out static pressure tests . Facilities for testing solenoid ope/ated components, measuring leak rates and applying a sudden load to the test component are also provided.

RING MAIN CONSOLE
HML aircraft servicing hydraulic ring mains are installed in hangars where congestion precludes the use of mobile test equipment; they are especially suitable for use in aircraft carriers. The power unit is situated in a plant room, and a controllable supply is available from a number of compact wallmounted consoIes. Ring mains are individually designed to meet specific requirements, and their capacities vary accordingly.
