Spartan Cruiser 3 Engined Monoplane1. Will maintain height carrying full load, with anyone engine out of action. It will do this easily at all times and not only under favourable conditions, as this ability forms part of the design qualities of the machine. During the test flights at full load the machine was found to be climbing at over 200 ft per minute, even at 6,000 ft. on any two engines. It will fly level easily on any two engines at full load, at cruising revs. For all air-liners this is an absolute necessity from the safety point of view, and particularly for those operating over country on which a forced landing would mean almost certain disaster.
2. Modern in construction. The strong metal fuselage and rigid ply-covered, full cantilever wing give a complete absence of rigging and maintenance trouble. This type of construction has been thoroughly tested in all parts of the world, under all climatic conditions. In districts subject to violent atmospheric disturbances this design of wing, in the opinion of experienced pilots, affords the greatest :possible security-there being no risk of wing structure failure. Strength and robustness have not been sacrificed to obtain additional pay load.
3. Thoroughly tested. It has been flown continuously and strenuously for some time. A demonstration tour to the Near East was made recently and the ease with which the machine flew and climbed on any two engines greatly impressed a number of experienced foreign pilots. The prototype of the "Cruiser" made a 10,000 mile flight to India and back piloted by Capt. T. N. Stack, A.F.C. The result of all this experience is incorporated in the Spartan "Cruiser."
4. The advertised performance figures are guaranteed to be within 5% for all standard production Spartan" Cruiser" machines.
