The Auster Mk 9 A.O.P. WZ662
Is now in production for service with the British Army.Austers have designed and built all the A.O.P. aircraft used in quantity by the British Army since 1940. The experience gained during that time has been incorporated into the Mk. 9, resulting in an aircraft designed for the job. Itsprimary function is that of a two-seat Air Observation Post, but its roomy cabin and brilliant performance well suit it to the other roles that A.O.P. aircraft are expected to perform, such as light liaison, casualty evacuation, supplies and mail dropping, aerial photography , etc., etc.
